May has been exceedingly enriching. I had a wonderful experience participating in a panel discussion in Atlanta with the “Made To Flourish” organization’s annual meeting; incorporating work, faith and economics in the workplace, a topic very near and dear to my heart (madetoflourish.org). I joined the Smart Meetings Summit in Las Vegas as a “Stellar Performer” award winner; incredible speakers with testimonials and messages of encouragement – I suggest attending one of these conferences; very uplifting (smartmeetings.com). Then I was off to Hamburg, Germany for a GC meeting with almost 30 of our team members from around the world; a fantastic destination for meetings of all sizes. I was a first-time visitor to this beautiful city, and I will definitely go back! It’s always good to meet face to face with our team as it’s critical to building trust and doing business with each other.
Another highlight was our contribution to a local charity in conjunction with our industry partners in Hamburg; it proves what a small group of people can do (our donation was the largest they have received in their 40-year history!) My month was topped off by attending IMEX in Frankfurt, including participating in the “She Means Business” education day; 14 professional women chose a topic and led a discussion table; a great way to share ideas and help people move forward. This trade show is one of the best in the world. Finally, the month ended with our Memorial Day which honors the men and women who died while serving in the U.S. military; we don’t know them all, but we owe them all, true for Americans as well as many other countries around the world. Taking a breath, then can’t wait to see what June has in store!
