I am often asked if attending trade shows are they worth it given the cost and time out of the office; even with hosted buyer programs. Having just come back from the IMEX America trade show in Las Vegas, I can tell you, just like many things, it depends! I am a firm believer in “face to face” meetings; and not just because I am in the meetings industry! As past President of a global representation company, there were many instances where face to face meetings expedited a contract, avoided a misunderstanding, resulted in new opportunities, built firm relationships, and provided many more benefits that may have taken much longer without the face to face meeting. While there are many trade shows geared to most all industries; selected wisely, trade shows are an opportunity to connect, learn, build on relationships and move business forward as long as you attend the right trade show with meaning, focus and purpose!
